My Take:

For you men out there struggling with chest fat (gynecomastia) and belly fat, I want you to know there is a natural approach available that can start allowing you to chisel out a body that makes you happy and confident.

For the larger part of my life I have struggled with gynecomastia, nearly coming to the conclusion that it must be the way I was meant to be forever.

All through high school, through college, and on into my early 30’s I was an avid gym goer, active in sports, lifted weights, and really focused on fitness at least 5 days per week.

I did achieve some impressive personal records, improved my muscle mass through the years, but never improved my relationship with the chest fat. Many people would think that pushups, bench presses, cardio, and all out working hard would drip this leach of an issue away, but it doesn’t.

I reached a level of pure disgust with myself, my chest fat, and a newfound supply belly fat in my early 30’s. In my 20’s it seemed like I could mitigate my body’s desire to accrue excessive amounts of chest fat/belly fat by being a gym rat, but that lifestyle is not sustainable for most.

Being married, with children, and having a career doesn’t lend itself kindly to spending an hour a day in the gym. To that point, I was also slowly learning that being a gym rat was only leading to burnout, breakdown, and injuries with minor long term gains.

I knew that I had to either do something different, or learn how to endure the pain of slowly becoming a person plagued with chest fat and belly fat. I refused to be accepting of a body composition that caused me to be unhappy, lack confidence, and have stressful thoughts every time I looked in the mirror.

So, what were my options? I knew that I didn’t want to rely on going to the gym. I knew that I could get “some” results by hitting the gym hard (but still not get rid of the chest fat), but I was just so sick of trying to find the time to commit to this. I knew that it wouldn’t last.

I was really determined to start digging into the root cause of gynecomastia, and belly fat. I went on a journey of reading, learning, asking hard questions, and embarking on bouts of trial and error.

To make a long story short, my research led me down the path of natural, ancestral, and organic strategies. These so called strategies today, are actually very normal inputs to the cells of our bodies.

I’ve learned that I had been confusing my body my entire life. Living a Standard American Lifestyle started negatively affecting my hormones very early in life. Hormones are big players when it comes to developing gynecomastia.

Along those same lines, I learned that the “struggle and suffer” exercise mentality that had been such a big part of my life through the years, was not doing me any favors from a hormonal and longevity standpoint as well.

By adhering very closely to a primal lifestyle, as well as executing several other nuggets I’ve learned along the way, my chest fat and belly fat have become a distant voice in the wind.

My primal fitness routine is nothing compared to the hour or more at the gym 5 days per week. I conduct a short, intense 15 minute routine at my house each morning (Monday-Friday) with my own bodyweight, and maybe a short, high intensity sprint on the weekend if I’m feeling good.

Wild:  In order to create something different in your life, different from 98% of the men around you, I believe you have to be a little Wild.  Deep down, we are inherently Wild, destined to break new ground, and push the boundaries.

Primal:  Our cellular blueprint has taken thousands of years to be written.  The inputs that we give our bodies each day, either helps, or hinders our bodies abilities to read this blueprint.  The more that we try to domesticate these inputs with modern/foreign lifestyles, the more our cells struggle to read the blueprint.

Health:  There are 3 positions here.  We are either moving towards disease, stagnant (neutral), or moving towards a higher level of health.  Gaining more, and more chest fat, and belly fat is an indication of moving in the opposite direction of high levels of health.  This is an indication that the body is struggling to read the blueprint that our bodies recognize.  This is an indication that our innate cellular processes are stressed, inflamed, and struggling to maintain a strong, lean, and robust status.  Thousands of years ago, this would have meant we would be less likely to succeed in being fast, agile, and victorious in providing for our tribe.

My philosophy is to live life in a way that allows our bodies to maximize the inherent processes that we were given at birth. Processes such as:  Burning fat for energy, building lean muscle, having purpose in life, building discipline towards knowing what’s good/bad, maximizing immunity, building confidence, and so much more!

I reject the struggle, and suffer exercise mentality.  For most of my life I played into this paradigm.  Eventually, I learned that I was training myself towards breakdown, burnout, disease, and injury.

I learned that chest/belly fat is a direct validation of a struggling body.  No amount of exercise will undo this.  I have learned that we should get healthy to lose weight, instead of losing weight to get healthy.
